In this role, you will be responsible for comprehensive testing across functional, non-functional, security, and chaos/resilience domains. You will design and execute test strategies for microservices and API-driven applications deployed in cloud-native environments (Docker & Kubernetes), ensuring system reliability, performance, and security.
Key Responsibilities
- Functional & Integration Testing: Design, develop, and execute functional, integration, system, regression, and end-to-end test cases. Perform API and microservices testing to validate service-to-service interactions.
- Test Automation & CI/CD: Develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks; integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines.
- Non-Functional Testing: Conduct performance, load, stress, scalability, reliability, availability, and capacity testing.
- Security Testing: Execute security test scenarios covering authentication, authorization, API security, vulnerability assessments, and common application security risks.
- Chaos & Resilience Engineering: Perform chaos and fault-injection testing (e.g., pod failures, network latency, CPU/memory exhaustion, dependency failures) to validate system tolerance under adverse conditions.
- Infrastructure & Environment Validation: Test containerized applications running on Docker and Kubernetes environments.
- Observability & Defect Root Cause Analysis: Utilize monitoring and observability tools to analyze test results, track performance, identify root causes, and collaborate with developers to resolve defects.
- Quality Assurance & Collaboration: Participate in design and code reviews, produce detailed test/defect reports, and partner with DevOps, SRE, Security, and Product teams to ensure production readiness.
Technical Requirements (Must-Have)
- Strong expertise in API & Microservices Testing and service-to-service validation.
- Hands-on experience with Test Automation Frameworks and CI/CD integration.
- Solid experience in Non-Functional Testing (Performance, Load, Stress, Scalability).
- Experience with Security Testing (Authentication, Authorization, API Security, Vulnerability Testing).
- Direct experience with Chaos & Resilience Testing and fault injection (pod failures, network latency, node restarts).
- Hands-on experience testing applications deployed in Docker and Kubernetes environments.
- Proficiency in using Monitoring & Observability tools for system performance and resource utilization analysis.
Desired Skills (Nice-to-Have)
- Familiarity with SRE principles and fault-tolerance architecture.
