CBIS / CBAM Upgrade Consultant
Professional Summary
We are seeking an experienced CBIS / CBAM Upgrade Consultant to support an international Telco Cloud infrastructure upgrade project. This is a temporary consulting assignment (approximately 7 to 8 weeks) targeting candidates based anywhere in Latin America who are available to travel and perform on-site activities at a customer data center in Cuba.
Key Responsibilities
- Infrastructure & Platform Upgrades: Perform CBIS and CBAM upgrades from R22 to R24; support firmware upgrades for Airframe RM19 infrastructure.
- Application & VM Migration: Execute application draining and VM/VNF migration before and after infrastructure upgrade tasks.
- VNF Management: Work with VNFs and related applications including EdenNet, NetAct, and vOMS.
- Technical Documentation: Review and analyze HLDs, LLDs, upgrade guides, and deployment documentation.
- Validation & Testing: Perform pre-validation activities, backups, upgrade procedures, rollback execution (if needed), post-upgrade validation, health checks, and sanity testing.
- Maintenance Window Support: Support Controller and Compute Node upgrade activities within defined maintenance windows.
- Quality Assurance & Defect Remediation: Follow project QA procedures, operate under a Zero Deficiencies acceptance approach, complete Self-Assessment Reports, and ensure PTID/PARU compliance when applicable.
Technical Requirements (Must-Have)
- Proven experience with Nokia Cloud infrastructure: CBIS (CloudBand Infrastructure Software) and CBAM (CloudBand Application Manager).
- Hands-on expertise with Airframe RM19 hardware/firmware upgrades.
- Strong knowledge of VNF migration, application draining, and virtualization.
- Familiarity with Telco applications such as EdenNet, NetAct, and vOMS.
- Ability to read/interpret HLD, LLD, and technical deployment guides.
Assignment Requirements & Logistics
- Location: Based in Latin America with full availability to travel and work on-site in Cuba during required project phases.
- Travel Requirements: Valid work and/or tourist visa allowing travel to Cuba.
- Equipment: Consultant must provide their own laptop (compliant with corporate image installation) and mobile phone.
- Duration: Short-term consulting assignment (~7 weeks, potentially extending up to 2 months).
- Expenses & Compensation: Project travel expenses covered by the company; compensation evaluated based on experience (evaluated in USD/month).
