Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Professional Summary

We are seeking two hands-on Cloud Infrastructure Engineers to support the modernization of a large-scale pharmacy platform being migrated from a legacy VMware and Oracle environment into Google Cloud Platform (GCP). In this role, you will actively contribute to platform modernization, cloud adoption, infrastructure scalability, deployment automation, container security, and CI/CD maturity. You will collaborate closely with development teams during North American business hours to build, deploy, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure end-to-end.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and maintain robust cloud infrastructure within Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Author and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform in production environments.
  • Support and optimize containerized workloads running on Kubernetes (GKE).
  • Build, manage, scan, and secure Docker container images, addressing vulnerabilities and security findings.
  • Enhance CI/CD pipelines and drive deployment automation initiatives to accelerate software delivery.
  • Partner with application development teams to troubleshoot infrastructure, container, and platform issues.
  • Assist in modernizing and migrating legacy on-premise/VMware applications to GCP.
  • Drive improvements in scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency across the platform.

Technical Requirements (Must-have)

  • Experience: 4+ years in Cloud Infrastructure, DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
  • Cloud Platform: Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Infrastructure as Code: Strong production experience with Terraform.
  • Containers & Security: Solid experience building and managing Docker containers and addressing container vulnerability findings.
  • Orchestration: Hands-on experience supporting Kubernetes environments (GKE preferred).
  • OS & Troubleshooting: Strong Linux system administration and troubleshooting skills.
  • Automation: Hands-on experience supporting CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
  • Soft Skills: Ability to independently drive infrastructure changes from design to deployment, with strong communication and collaboration skills.

Desired Skills (Nice-to-have)

  • Experience with GitOps methodologies and tools (e.g., ArgoCD).
  • Experience with GCP Cloud SQL.
  • Proven track record migrating enterprise workloads from VMware/on-prem environments to public cloud.
  • Experience modernizing legacy enterprise software systems.
  • Experience supporting Java-based application environments.
